Open Art meets Inuti

During August, the artist Hanna Bjoerklund and Magnus Oestling visited the open air exhibition Open Art. They met with production manager Elin Persson. Hanna and Magnus invited Elin to their workplace Inuti in Stockholm. During September the Open Art crew went to Stockholm and visited the three studios Kungsholmen, Essingen and Vaesterbroplan.

We started out at Kungsholmen that’s got a textile studio and working space for painting. Hanna, Magnus and the artistic director Anneli Aaltonen Krantz showed us around. We also had the opportunity to have a look at the Inuti Collection, which they sometime use at exhibitions or lend on requests.

Anneli and Hanna were our guides throughout the day and took us to studio Essingen. At Essingen the artists work with painting, sculpture, mosaic and whatever material they choose. We were just in time to see a “climate art strike” in the park outside the studio.

The day ended at studio Vaesterbroplan and their workplace for painting. This studio also has an art gallery with several exhibitions every year.

The day gave us new thoughts and ideas for the future, and also gave us inspiration. We urged the studios to apply for the next Open Art exhibition in 2021. The next open call will open in spring 2020, apply!
